How to get complete dark mode in Chrome

Google is now focusing on Dark Mode in Android ecosystem. Google is implementing system wide Dark Mode in its upcoming Android version Android Q. Google has launched Phone app, Contacts app and Calculator app for android with the new Dark Mode in them.

Google Chrome for Windows also got the Dark Mode but for Android Google has gone far. For Android version of Google Chrome there is a option for full Dark Mode for contents which means every page/website will have black/dark background. It is kind of awesome to try.

How to enable Dark Mode

Steps:

  1. Update Google Chrome to version 74.
  2. Copy paste chrome://flags/#enable-android-night-mode in chrome URL bar.
  3. There would be an option in the dropdown menu called ‘Android Chrome UI dark mode’.
  4. Tap on ‘Enabled’ and relaunch the browser.
  5. Go to Settings, tap on Dark Mode to enable or disable the feature.

How to enable Dark Mode

After enabling dark mode follow the steps below:

Steps:

  1. Copy paste chrome://flags/#enable-web-contents-dark-mode in chrome URL bar.
  2. There would be an option in the dropdown menu called ‘Android web contents dark mode’.
  3. Tap on ‘Enabled’ and relaunch the browser.
