Jio has transformed communication and data usage by the users of India in a great way. It has more than 340 million active users. The data plans launched by Jio revolutionized the plans of the Internet in India. It is the first company to bring the cheapest and most affordable plans to the consumers.
Jio has made a partnership with one of the biggest tech giant Microsoft as a part of which the Redmond, Washington based tech giant would power the data centers set up by Indian conglomerate in India. This news was announced in the 42 AGM(Annual General Meeting) of Reliance Industries by the chairman Mukesh Ambani.
“Today I am priviledged to announce that Jio and Microsoft have entered into a globally unique long term alliance to accelerate the digital tranformation of our country,” Ambani said at while making the announcement.
As part of the new partnership, Reliance will set up a network of large data centers across the country which will be powered by the Microsoft Azure.
“When we put these two pieces together, we now have the capabilities to develop India-native solutions including speech recognition, and natural language understanding for all major Indian languages and dialects,” Ambani added.
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella shared his thoughts as well and reinforced the enthusiasm for the work Microsoft and Jio will do together and the potential benefits of the alliance can bring the organizations across India and to the country itself.
How this will work?
Reliance Jio will make custom solutions with the help of Microsoft Azure for large enterprises who have already benefited from the Microsoft technology platforms. The companies will have affordable and best in class techs like data analytics, AI, cognitive services, blockchain, IoT and edge computing to accelerate India’s digital transformation and enable grassroots of Innovation.
