During its 42 AGM(Annual General Meeting) Jio launched its new broadband service. This service was announced in August but the company disclosed the plans in August. The plans of Jio Gigafiber starts at just 700 INR per month. Jio Fiber service will start on 5 September with the base plan starts from 100Mbps and goes up to 1Gbps.
The cheapest data plan is priced at Rs 700 a month and has speed up to 100Mbps. The top-end plan comes at Rs 10,000 a month and provides access to broadband, Jio HomeTV, and Jio’s IoT.
“US has average internet speeds of 90Mbps, our base plan offers a higher speed” said Ambani.
Internet speed in India is quite slow as compared to other countries and the FUP is also less. The main problem is that the telecom companies claim that the minimum speed after Fair Usage will be 120-200 Kbps. The thing to consider is that it is Mbps instead of MBps which means 120-200 Kbps equals to 12 to 20 Kbps.
Jio is changing the way users use the Internet and communicate with others.
