Many users of Amazon Prime Videos sometimes get this error when they try to watch anything in the Prime Videos android app. This error is mostly occurring in the Samsung devices after the firmware updates. It is because of hardware acceleration gets enabled after the update. There is easy way to fix this issue but first, let us understand what is Hardware acceleration.
What is Hardware acceleration?
Hardware acceleration utilizes graphical processing power to increase the performance of rendering. In this process, the application sends some load of processing from the CPU to the inbuilt GPU. GPU’s are designed for high-speed calculations of a large amount of data.
When hardware acceleration has enabled the device starts to perform parallel processing which means it runs the applications some part on CPU and some part on GPU.
The Problem in Prime Videos
In Prime Videos the hardware acceleration is used to play the High Definition and 4K UHD contents. Enabling this on the supported devices can increase the rendering quality and users can watch 4K contents on their devices but if the device doesn’t support this, then this will stop the videos from playing.
