During a Hackathon in London a cyber expert Syed Shuja claimed that EVM was hacked in 2014 elections. Addressing a press conference in London via Skype, Syed Shuja said that he fled India in 2014 because he felt threatened in the country after the killing of team members who are involved in making EVM and finding flaws in it.
Syed Shuja appeared on the screen through Skype call, his face was masked. He claimed that Reliance Jio helped BJP to get low frequency signals to hack the EVM machine. He gave no proof to backup his claim. The more interesting thing is that in 2014, Jio was not found, Jio was launched in September 2016. Shuja also alleged other parties: Samajwadi Party, Bahujan Samaj Party, Aam Aadmi Party and Congress for involving in the rigging of the EVMs.
He said that BJP won in Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh because his team helped them to jack the EVMs.
Shuja claimed to be a member of ECIL (Electronics Corporation of India Limited) which manufactures the EVM machines.
Shuja said that there was a team of 14 members who created the EVM and he was the part of these 14 members. In 2013 before one year of elections ECIL instructed them to find out if EVM can be hacked and how to do this. The team thought it is a task to find the flaw in the machine so they found the fault and created a hack proof EVM which was only a prototype. But in 2014 election he claimed that old EVMs was used.
The cyber expert Syed Shuja also alleged that in 2014 elections EVMs was hacked by BJP using a military grade frequency. He also claimed that BJP leader and union minister Gopinath Munde was “killed” because he was aware of EVM hacking. (Munde was died in road accident weeks after the BJP won in 2014 elections).
Shuja also claimed that NIA (National Investigation Agency) officer who was investigating the death of Munde Tanzil Ahmed, was planning to file an FIR noting he had been murdered, but was himself killed. Shuja also said some of his team members were killed and he was also allegedly attacked but survived.
The Elections Commission and Political Parties were invited to he at the press conference but only Congress leader Kapil Sibal attended the event.
