The TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India) given the permission to give in-flight connectivity when the plane will reach above 3000 meters of altitude.
The passengers of Indian Flights can be able to use Mobile data and call services during their flights before October of upcoming month. TRAI has approved the proposal of DoT (Department of Telecommunication) for the use of Mobile connectivity in the planes.
The international flights gives the WiFi service within the flights, the mobile connectivity is very rare. As per TRAI, over 30 airlines allow the use of mobile phone on aircraft, including AirAsia, Air France, British Airways, Egypt Air, Emirates, Air New Zealand, Malaysia Airlines, Qatar Airways and Virgin Atlantic.
Minister of Civil Aviation Suresh Prabhu said in a tweet. “I will follow up closely to ensure earliest implementation. We remain committed in improving the services to our air passengers, making their travel delightful and hassle-free,”

The proposal was cleared this Tuesday it will not only enable the use of Mobile data and calls in Indian Flights but also in other plans flying through Indian territory. Some Airlines had disagreed for using Indian Satellite for connectivity.
